Preschool Motor Room

Robert Shearer Preschool is proud to have developed a Motor Room which assists toddlers with developmental delays in making progress with both gross and fine motor skills as well as sensory awareness. It contains multi-step obstacle courses which challenge our toddlers to acquire skills in balance, hopping, climbing stairs, rolling, swinging with our indoor tire tube or hanging platform swing, trampolines and more. Gross motor skills are crucial to developing everyday self-care skills  such as developing balance to pull on pants one leg before the other. Fine Motor assistance for pre- academic skills are necessary for cutting, writing, drawing. Our on site Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists provide therapy as part of our support services for toddlers eligible for special education.
